Estée Lauder Haul.

Eveninggggg guys!

So as I've probably mentioned before I like to do surveys online to try and get myself some money saved up to allow me to shop without the guilt (usually I don't get much of that either though!). Not so long ago I hit my £20 target on Valued Opinions and decided my store of choice would be Boots for my next haul! Estée Lauder was the counter I hit, and I can't deny, I hit it hard.

I've heard a lot about the Doublewear Stay-In-Place Foundation, some things good, and some not so good - and I wanted to try it for myself! So I bought it to try it out for myself and I am IMPRESSED! The Estée Lauder counter assistant was really helpful choosing my shade and tried 3 different shades on me to see which would suit me best and I settled with Pure Beige! The foundation goes on so easily and really blends in well, and it really does last SO long, it's probably as close to a foundation tattoo that you can get at the minute. I wore it to Parklife all weekend and it didn't budge - even in the rain! It retails at £28.50, which is expensive, but I only plan to use it for nights out and events that I'm gonna be braving the elements in, such as a festival! It is far too heavy for everyday use, your skin would never need that kind of coverage on a daily basis! But for special occasions, this will be the first foundation I reach for! I love the packaging as well, so classy and elegant! It doesn't have a pump but I just pour a little onto my hand and it doesn't run away thanks to it's thick consistency!

Doublewear Stay-In-Place Foundation in 'Pure Beige'
The other product I purchased was the Pure Colour Envy Sculpting Lipstick in the shade 'Dominant'. It's the creamiest consistency and it literally glides on to your lips like a dream. I generally don't like creamy lipsticks because they don't last very long on my lips, but this lipstick is different. It's a bright vibrant pink that's not going ANYWHERE. I kept it on all day, and that included eating and drinking - and it looked just as good when I got home as when I left the house that morning! It's expensive, I can't lie, it retails at £24. It's the most expensive lipstick I've ever bought but I don't regret it, the price tag is really reflected in the quality of the product and it's staying power. The packaging is obviously included in the price, and it's a beautiful sleek design with a magnetic close. I'm wearing Dominant in the picture below! Swatches will be further on!

Pure Colour Envy Sculpting Lipstick in 'Dominant'
Yet another shameless selfie to show off a product ;-)
I always think it's important to remember with buying in Boots you do get Boots points which you can save up for other purchases! So at least you do get some reward for shopping in store! When I went to Boots, I only intended to purchase Doublewear, but there was a gift with purchase (GWP) on if you bought two things, and I'm a sucker for a gift with purchase! This gift with purchase was valued at over £90 so I think it justified my extra spending!

I received a gorgeous teal and navy tile print makeup bag, a Lipstick, a Moisturiser, a Mini Advanced Night Repair, a 4 piece Eyeshadow Palette, a Mascara, an Eyeliner and a Nail Polish. This was my first purchase of any Estée Lauder cosmetics, and getting the GWP really introduced me to a lot of new things I maybe wouldn't have been willing to purchase! I'm not going to go into toooo much detail, because basically I love everything and this post would be 4 hours of reading long!!

Advanced Night Repair and Daywear Moisturiser
Pure Colour Nail Lacquer in 'Blue Blood'

Pure Colour Lipstick in 'Bois de Rose'
L - 'Bois de Rose' & R - 'Dominant'

4 piece Eyeshadow Palette - I don't know the names I'm sorry! :(
Unfortunately I'm a major crap blogger and forgot to take pictures of both the Eyeliner and Mascara and I'm in Northern Ireland and they're in Manchester! Thankfully I know what they are so you can check the full size out online! I received the Pure Colour Intense Kajal Eyeliner in 'Blackened Black' - which really is super black and goes on so creamily, no tugging at your eyes! Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara in 'Extreme Black' - I love the brush of this mascara, It's now very much included in my mascara routine, and it's so black! I love black eyeliners and black mascara and Estée Lauder definitely supplies that!

I'm super impressed with everything that I bought, and it all feels glorious on my skin, I'm absolutely crap that I don't have the names for the eyeshadows! I will be able to get them when I get back to Manchester so if you would like to know, feel free to tweet me at @RachelVennard or send me an email at vennardr@hotmail.co.uk and I can fill you in!

Have you tried any Estée Lauder products?
What do you think of them and the brands?
Let me know!

"Shopping Is My Cardio" - Pt. 1.

I absolutely love that quote, it's sarcastic, but I do shop that much it could nearly be true ;-)

This is a post of what I picked up in the Christmas sales!
There are a few clothing bits that won't be included, I haven't had the chance or a willing victim to take photos of me, SORRY. :)
(I'll post links to anything that is still available online!)

Topshop underwear, No7 'The Skincare Collection', House of Holland 'Get Nailed', No7 'Beautifully Bronzed', House of Holland Suspender tights & Nike Air Royalty Lite perforated trainers.

I found this in Boots half price sale! So £8 for a gorgeous highlighter in 5 different shades that you can blend together or use individually for different areas and the softest, hugest kabuki brush I've probably ever seen. Bargain.
Check it outtttt HERE.

House of Holland Get Nailed false nails! £8.99. These are beaut! White with a black outline and then they have stickers with letters on it that can be applied! I did my name - so cliche! There'll be a pic in the next post! The nails didn't stay on that long but I find the glue that come in these false nails packets never last as long as strong glue that you can order from eBay so that may be where I went wrong! These are expensive for false nails, especially now as Primark do ones at £1 but this was for New Years Eve so it's allowed to be a little more expensive!

The No7 'The Skincare Collection' (sold out online) was another thing I picked up! £8 for all of this! I think that's an absolute bargain! I love No7 products, but tend to avoid them because they're generally quite expensive for being a 'drug-store' brand! In this kit there wasssss...
No7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser (Liz Earle Dupe!!)
No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make-up Remover
No7 Protect & Perfect Day Cream
No7 Protect & Perfect Night Cream
No7 Headband
No7 Muslin Cloth
That is A LOT for £8!! I picked my mum one of these kits up too and if you haven't had a nosey in Boots yet I seriously suggest you check this out! It's all gorgeous & super nice on your skin!

I love Topshop underwear, but only ever buy it in the sale, everything is either £1 or £2, Primark prices but such a higher quality! Also the House of Holland x River Island suspender tights are amazing, they were in the sale for £6! Seems steep but the quality is excellent! But be careful not to snag them, it's a devastating moment when you do! Finally the Nike Air Royalty Lites, I got these in the Nike outlet in Banbridge (N. Ireland).. I've been lusting after them for ages so I treated myself when I had Christmas money! I love the mint green colour, perfect for Spring & Summer!! They cost me £27.

This is the end of Part 1. I know I've bought a lot, but it is in the sales so everythings a lot cheaper!
Part 2 will be up soon! Please check it out!
Mwahhhh.

The Glamour Beauty Edit.

Hellooo lovelies!!
I hope everyone had a brilliant Christmas, ate a little too much turkey, drunk a little too much alcohol and fell over a few too many times - I know I certainly did, in front of a club full of people. SMOOTH.
But anyway, enough about me! I hope Santa was good to everyone and everyone got exactly what they wished for :)

Today's post is about a lovely little beauty box that was on offer at Latest in Beauty! It's currently sold out but if you clicky on my linky HERE you can be entered into a competition to get your mitts on one of these little darlings! The box originally retailed at £14.95 and delivery was £3.95!

So, I hear you ask - WHAT'S IN THE BOX???
I shall show you..

1. Balance Me Daily Care Radiance Face Oil - RRP £15.00
2. Maybelline Baby Lips Balm Repair - RRP £2.99
3. Eyeko Lash Curler - RRP £12.00
4. Philip Kingsley 'One More Day' Dry Shampoo - RRP £5.95
5. Toni & Guy Glamour Firm Hold Hairspray - RRP £2.19
6. Benefit 'They're Real' mascara - RRP £9.00
7. HD Brows Eye and Brow Palette 'Foxy' - RRP - £19.96
So as you can seeeeee there is a LOT in the box, you pay £18.90 and receive 7 products that are worth approximately worth £67!! That's a saving of of nearly 50 quid!! The majority of the products are full size, and those that aren't give you the chance to try something out you would never think of purchasing!

The Balance Me Daily Care Radiance Face Oil is gorgeous!! It's designed to replenish the skin with ingredients to boost and balance your skin! It's particularly effective on oily skin, as oil on oil helps to balance the skins natural oils out! I've noticed it made such a difference to my skin, because since I've moved into my new student house I've suffered from a really oily T zone and it's helped so much! Also the smell is beautiful! It's got chamomile in, and it really helps me sleep if I use it last thing at night, it conks me straight out! I've been so impressed by this product I'm definitely gonna try some more Balance Me products in the future!

The Maybelline Baby Lips have been such a hyped up beauty product over the last few months on Youtube, blogs, instagram, you can't avoid them! I'm glad I got one in this box and was able to try it out because every time I went to Superdrug they were sold out! I'm not going to lie to you, I don't think they're amazing, I much prefer my eos balm to the baby lips, but if you want something easy to carry around with you to avoid chapped lips in the winter it works perfectly.. It's ultimately a pretty looking chapstick! Maybe if I had got a flavoured one I would have been more intrigued or impressed :)

I am one of those people that constantly forgets to curl their lashes, I always forget about it until I'm half way through applying my mascara and at that point it's too late! This Eyeko Lash Curler is super pretty with its limited edition blue velvet handles, it catches my eye on my dresser and now I actually remember to curl my lashes! It makes such a difference and this one is such good quality it really helps my lashes become a lot more curly and noticeable! It comes with 3 silicone pads for the curler, all which last for 3 months! It means for £12 you get 9 months of pretty eyelashes, to a lash freak like me that's a bargain!

Philip Kingsley is some kind of hair product God, however for me with my very short hair I tend not to pay much attention to new hair products on the market. However dry shampoo is my BEST FRIEND. I am a lazy person, I hate washing my hair - even though there is so little of it, so I love being able to reach for a can and getting another day out of it! I also think Dry Shampoo is so good at adding volume to a style for a night out - guarantee it'll help you're hairstyle last all night!! This Philip Kingsley one is brilliant, which is to be expected for the slightly hefty £5.95 price tag! That's like 3 HUGE cans of Batiste when they're on offer! But the price really shows in the quality of the product! Not one I'd repurchase myself but it's lovelyyyy when you get it in these beauty boxes - a treat to my little short-haired head!!

As anyone else with short hair knows, hairspray is essential to ever holding any style! Toni & Guy are another haircare brand I tend to pass buy as I stick to VO5, Got2be and Elnett for my hairsprays! This hairspray gives a good hold without making your hair feel sticky or really stiff! But I'm more in love with my current brands so I don't think I would rebuy this one either! It's nothing against Toni & Guy or Philip Kingsley - it's just once you get used to products that work for your hair and the way you style it you tend to stick with them!

Benefit do these cutesy little versions of They're Real for magazines, beauty boxes and freebies with other purchases and I know they're valued at £9, however you can't buy them!! You can only buy the full version which is 8.5g and retails at £19.50! I cannot lie, this is a holy grail product to me! I can't just live with the mascara on it's on but it's part of my mascara holy grail trio! I use it first to separate my lashes, as the wand has such small individual bristles it separates them so well! I then have a coat of Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara and then finish it off with Lancomes Custom Drama mascara.. As Jay-Z would say, HOLY GRAIL. But anyhooo, anyone who hasn't tried this mascara yet, I advise that you do.. You probably will hate it at first, but stick with it, eventually you'll NEED it in that makeup bag of yours. ;-)

Finally, the real reason I bought the beauty box.. The HD Brows Eye and Brow palette... This is amazing! I have ditched my Benefit Browzing's (for now anyway) as this is such a handy palette, perfect for a good dark brow and also can be used for a great smokey eye.. It's handbag friendly and easily carried!! The colours can be seen below from left to right - 'Nude' (the really light yellow shade), 'Carbon', 'Warm Brown' and 'Dark Brown'.. You have to mix the shades slightly to make sure you get a good shade on your brows just to make sure you don't go full scouse brow or end up looking like you dyed your eyebrows! But it's brilliant none the less! The colours are so matte and so easy to blend in, quick and simple!! It's cheaper than Benefit's version and I think it has more uses as I've really gone off the gel in Browzings! I much prefer a powder for my brows now, gels tend to melt!

Have you ever purchased a Latest in Beauty collection box such as this one?
What did you think - do you think they're good value for money?
Let me know!
Have a great New Years whatever you's are upto and I shall speak to you in 2014 *eek*!!

Birthdaaaaay Post!

Helloooo!
I'm back in Manchester and I'm officially 21! EEK - I'M SO OLD.
Just a little post to show what my lovely besties got me for my birthday makeup wise!
I was well and truly spoilt, so please don't think I'm trying to show off by this post!!

My lovely housemates bought me the bright orange lipstick in 'Morange'! Its an orangey red in an Amplified Creme finish and it's absolutely gorgeous on! I've been lusting after it for so long after seeing the lovely Zoella raving about it!! It's such a perfect consistency and applies soooo easily! Check below for a pic of me wearing it!

Another one of my flatmates Hayley bought me lots of owl related pressies, including the cosiest blanket and a handwarmer! Think that's gonna be necessary for Manchester life!! Hayley also got me some Malibu, if no-one has ever tried Malibu and Milk you are MISSING OUT! It's like ice-cream, I definitely recommend it!!
Lizzie my classmate/housemate/right-arm got me my current favourite perfume.. ONE DIRECTION! It's so sweet and just smells amazzzing! I am aware I'm 21 and the target age of the perfume is 12, but I don't care.. If it smells good I love it! She also got me an owl keyring and owl chocolate.. But I'll never wanna eat it!

Nexxxxxxt my bestie/wifey/soulmate treated me to some lovely MAC makeup! She bought me the Cremeblend blush in the shade 'Something special' - it's so nice, easy to apply and the perfect orangey peach! It's definitely the shade of blush that can be worn everyyyy day regardless of season!
She also veryyyy kindly bought me an Amplified Creme lipstick in 'Up The Amp', it's a really vibrant purple in the bullet and it looks even more vibrant on! The finish on both the lipsticks is so easy to apply and it's beautifuuuuuul. I absolutely love this shade, I don't know if it's one I would have picked up in store but I'm so grateful that Becca bought it because I LOVE it. In the pic below I'm wearing both the products Becca bought me!

My other bestie Jill who I am unfortunately separated from due to Uni treated me to some absolute beauties when I was at home, including my first Sausage and Egg McMuffin! It was delishhhhh! A new treat for hungover mornings me thinks! Paddy McGurgan has recently opened a new Pro Make-up store in Newry! She picked me up an absolutely beautiful Make-Up Atelier Paris Eyeshadow Palette in shade T02! It is beautiful! Not a palette I would have chosen for myself but honestly, I think it might be love! Two gorgeous light coloured peachy tones, a rusk shade, a purple shimmer and a black with a hint of glitter! Its perfecttt for day and night wear, just depends on how strong you use the darker shades! Sorry the lights not great on the lighter shades, my house hasn't got the greatest lighting situations!

She also treated me to a Lush Fresh Facial Cleanser in 'Angels on Bare Skin'! It's a cleanser designed to even out skin tone and improve the health and appearance of your skin! It's made of ground almonds, you take a pea sized amount of the cleanser, add water and make a milky consistency then apply to the face, and remove with warm water! Your skin feels so fresh and clean after using it! And I think it really has improved my skin since I started using it, because I've been suffering from a few breakouts recently but this has helped it stop! Have a nosey at here on Lush's website!

I just want to thank everyone who got me anything! I was absolutely spoilt and also got gorgeous presents from my Mum, Dad and someone else special! I had the best birthday celebrations and it made turning 21 a lot easier! I wish it could be my birthday every week!

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you've tried anything above!!

Treats to myselfffff!

Hellooooooo!
I have to admit I have been spoiling myself a bit recently, a few treats here and there, after work etc.. It needs to stop!! But I thought I'd let you see what I've purchased!!

Firstlyyyyyy... DRUM ROLL PLEASE!
Rihanna recently launched her Rihanna Hearts line for Autumn, and ohhhhh glory days it is BEAUTIFUL! Everything had the most gorgeous rose-gold packaging and all the colours were beautiful! Now mostly everything has unfortunately sold out online (click HERE to see if there's anything left!) but in a few stores there are a few bits and pieces left but it really is just pot luck! I was the lucky lady that managed to buy the last 'Riri Woo' in Selfridges at the Trafford Centre in Manchester.. Sorry to anyone that wanted to go and purchase it! It's a really matte deep red and it's gorgeoussss! It lasts for absolute donkeys on the lips and even manages to stay on quite well after eating and drinking! It is quite similar to Ruby Woo which is in the permanent collection but the girl instore said it's easier to apply and is not as drying on the lips! This little baby was £16.50 which I know is expensive.. But look at it - HOW COULD I SAY NO?!
There'll be a swatch further belowwww!

Neeeext.. As you know I flew home last week for my birthday, and unfortunately Terminal 1 at Manchester airport has a MAC counter... I however was VERY restrained and only treated myself to one eyeshadow! I bought 'Brown Down', a matte warm brown! Have a little looksy here! I really wanted a shadow like this for my day-to-day makeup look, I have an Urban Decay Naked palette but it just doesn't have a dark matte shadow for the outer corners of my eyes! In the airport products are Tax Free (I THINK :-/) so instead of £12.50 for this lovely little number I paid £10.40! It was a birthday present to myself and it is something I am gonna get a lot of use out of! Check it out below and see the swatch further belooooow.

They say to leave the best to last.. And I certainly have..
Have a little look at this beauty..

I am finally the proud owner of Nars 'Orgasm'!! Gorgeous peachy/pink blush with a hint of gold shimmer just running through the blush!! So so pretty on the skin, I now understand why this product has become such a cult product, I loveee it!! It can easily be worn as a daily blush, or layered up for a more dramatic look at nighttime! £21.50 for a blush seems steep, but when it's so wearable I think it's worth it! However I didn't pay £21.50! ASOS offers 10% student discount at all times, and you can buy it on ASOS HERE! But on Tuesdays if you have an O2 Priority code and you have a student discount code from Unidays you get 20%!! To most people this doesn't seem a lot, but any students know that this is a looooot! I paid £17.20 for the blush and I'm absolutely chuffed about this!! SO HAPPY ARGHHHH!! I also love how cheeky NARS name their products, very tongue in cheek!

L-R - 'RiRi Woo', MAC's 'Brown Down' and NARS 'Orgasm'
I know I've been on a complete shopping haul recently, and particularly high-end products but it has been my Birthday, my money is all spent now so I'm back to being a poor student so shopping is FINITO.
I hope you enjoyed reading this!
Let me know if you have any of these products and what you think of them!

MAC - 'Embrace Me'

Helllllllooooo!
I'm currently at home in good old Northern Ireland! It's so gooood to be home!!

My mum and I made a little excursion to Cheshire Oaks designer outlet when I moved back to Manchester in September! And much to my happiness they had an Cosmetics Company Outlet!! There was a LOT of people in it and it was so warm in the shop so I only grabbed one item!

This little beauty is MAC's 'Embrace Me' lipliner! It's a briiiiight bright pink (verging on neon) and it's so so prettyyyy! Definitely not for those who are girlie girls but I definitely am!

MAC's lip liners are usually £12-£12.60 in store but this was £8.75 at the Outlet! That's a good saving to me and I was more than happy to pick it up at this price!!

That's just a wee pic of me wearing 'Embrace Me' on a recent night out!

What do you think of Embrace Me? Would you rock it?? Let me know what you think :)

Talk soon lovelies!
I'll maybe do a post on a few birthday items that I've received! But I don't want anyone to think I'm bragging or anything like that!!
Lots of lurveeeeeee!

Nails of the daaaaay!

Hellooo!
Just a quick post to show you what colour and polish I'm currently rocking on my nails because I loveee it!
Just to let you know my nails aren't natural, I do have acrylic nails on that I get done at Lilly Nail and Beauty! They're so professional and last SO long! I've had mine on a fortnight and there has hardly been any growth at all! I usually get them infilled every 3-4 weeks! All the girls at Lilly's are lovely and so welcoming!

Currently I'm wearing Barry M's Hi Shine Gelly Nail Paint in the shade 'Watermelon'!
Watermelon is a dark teal colour that dries lovely and dark on the nails! It's a perfect autumn colour because of its deep rich colour and I think I'll be wearing this colour a LOT.
The colour actually dries darker on the nails than it does in the bottle!
I love these polishes - they're so glossy and shiny, they really do look like you've paid for gel nails whenever its a bargain at £3.99 from Boots or Superdrug!
It dries well on the nails even if the application is a bit streaky, within a few minutes the polish settles out to give a glossy, streak free finish!

At £3.99 these are some of the best nail products available at the moment from either the high street or high-end beauty products! They're the only type of nail varnish I even consider purchasing anymore!
If you haven't tried them I suggest you do! They have a great colour selection and every time I dander into a Superdrug store they have more colours available in this finish!

Barry M have also recently released more new autumn shades in a matte finish so I'm really looking forward to trying them and seeing how they compare! I love matte nails as well as shiny, glossy nails.. Oh to be honest I love most nail varnish finishes and Barry M have a finish to suit you!!

Barry M is currently on offer at Superdrug, and if you spend £9 on their products you get a free mascara so everyone hot foot it down there now or there'll be none left because I'll have bought them all.. :)

What do you think of these Hi Shine Gelly Nail Paints?
Are there any shades that you would recommend?
Let me know!
I'm off to Alton Towers tomorrow for my first time so I'm hopefully going to get a good few photos up for all you thrillseekers out there!

Speak soon lovelies!

What's on my lips...?

Hello beautiiiiiies!
I worked in a hospital allllll summer and it was damned hard work, so before I came back to Uni I wanted to treat myself, so obviously I headed straight to the MAC counter!
My friend Becca had recently bought 'Rebel' and I LOVED it on her so I definitely wanted to give it a try!
I had a £5 off voucher from my Debenhams beauty loyalty card so I decided I would treat myself, £10 for a MAC lipstick is good to me!

Rebel is a gorgeous dark berry fuschia colour that glides onto the lips soooo easily! It's my first MAC lipstick thats been a Satin Finish and I'm really impressed! It lasts sooo well on the lips, it definitely won't budge all day! Rihanna wears Rebel from time so I feel like a celeb when I wear it ;-)

The only issue I had with Rebel was that I found it bled quite a bit around my lips.. So I dandered back to MAC and asked the sales assistant what lip liner was a good match to Rebel. She suggested Currant and whenever I seen it swatched on her hand I knew it was the one :)

Swatches L-R - Rebel with Currant underneath, Rebel & Currant
Currant is a deeper shade of Berry and it glides on like a dreeeaaaaaaaam, it matches Rebel so well, either when worn just on the edge of the lips, or when worn all over with Rebel on top. With Currant underneath it lasts even longer! Its a perfect berry lip combo for Autumn and Winterrrr! I love it! The lip liner was £12, but they last foreeeever so I don't mind :)

Below are some pictures of me wearing Rebel with Currant underneath it. I wore it for a night out with a smoky eye, which was quite a lot having eyes and lips done but I don't really mind.. In Manchester nobody bats an eyelid even if you're wearing purple, blue or green lipstick so it's not that much of a big deal! In the second picture I was going to the pub so I just kept my eyes simple and had statement lips! If you've noticeed I got my nose pierced and I'm so happy with it! I completely missed it, it feels like an extra bit of jewellery on my face!!

Hope you enjoyed this post!
Have any of you got Rebel or Currant?
Let me know what you think in the comments or even tweet me.. You can follow me at @RachelVennard :) I'd love to hear to from anyone who reads this post so drop me a tweet about anything and everything :)

Until next time my dears :)
