10 Little Secrets Tag

Hello my lovelies!
A tag post today, basically because I really wanna blog but I haven't got time to go buy things/take pictures/try them out/review them.. Work is mental at the minute, which is obviously the way I love it, but it means that my blog is gonna be neglected a little bit!

I am flying home next week for a few days, so who knows, there may be a cheeky duty free purchase! I've never flown from Gatwick so I don't know what the North Terminal has to offer!

So I found this tag on my beautiful besties blog (beccasbeautyspot.blogspot.co.uk) and really enjoyed readin it so I thought I'd give it a go! Also if go and like Beccas MUA Facebook Page - she shows her amazing work and makeup artist she's done on clients! Go and look out her newest film work, it's zombies and it creeped me out a little I can't lie! She's doing a giveaway at 1,000 likes so give her a thumbs up and you could be in with a chance of winning some goodies :)

So, lets get started then!

1. What is the one product that makes you feel like a million dollars?
Honestly, it has to be my Estee Lauder Doublewear foundation! Whenever I wear it I just feel so much happier about my face and how it looks - it's an instant confidence boost! I save this one for special occasions because it's pretty heavy duty and expensive, so when I slap it on, I really feel the benefits!

2. What is your skincare secret/A passed down skin care tip?
Same as Becca, unfortunately I don't particularly have any passed down skin care tips! My main advice is TAKE YOUR MAKEUP OFF AT NIGHT. Even after a night out when you wanna stuff your face with pizza and just pass out, take a wipe, swoosh it round your face and you'll feel 1 million times better for it the next morning!!

3. Share your hair care secret?
I have no hair care secrets, I am SHIT with my hair. Like I can barely do anything with it, I've never been able to! My only advise is after you dye your hair - either a box job or at the hairdressers, always condition it well. It makes the colour look so much better and your hair will feel a lot healthier! This is particularly important if you start going blonde - my hair was so dry!

4. What's your biggest diet rule?
Well unfortunately I'm pretty shit at diets, I used to be so good at saying no to everything, but I've just lost that ability. I really need to try harder! I think the most important thing is don't restrict yourself completely - if you say 'NO CHOCOLATE' to yourself, all your body will crave is chocolate! It's always important to have everything in moderation!

5. Any workout tips?
PFFT. It took me 2 months of working at Nestle to eventually buckle up the courage to go and use the work gym. I don't like working out. It's depressing. Find ways to make it fun! I'm volunteering at the minute with an animal rescue centre and I walk the dogs, I do over 3 and a half miles walking a week with them but it doesn't feel like exercise!

6. Which perfume is your secret weapon?
I absolutely love Thierry Mugler's 'Alien' I don't think it can be beaten, it's such a signature scent and you can tell it a mile away! No-one can resist it, I always get compliments when I wear it!

7. What is a clothing item of yours which always turns heads?
I don't know if I have a particular clothing item that turns heads, but people are always pretty impressed with my trainer collection! I love trainers, I could wear them all day every day! My orange Roshe Runs are my newest addition and they are literally like walking on air! So comfortable!

8. What's your most treasured piece of jewellery?
I don't have a lot of particularly expensive and sentimental jewellery, I always get afraid of losing it so I don't like to buy expensive stuff! I have a Skagen watch I got from my mum for Christmas and I bought myself a Pandora ring with my birthstone, so they're probably the two most treasured pieces I have!

9. Who is your style crush?
Oh this is a hard one, I love so many people! Kim Kardashian - her style is smoking at the minute, she's really showing off that post baby body! (pic from Google)

Victoria from vipxo.co.uk - her style is so good and I'm obsessed with her Valentino style shoes from eBay, I think I need to purchase them! Her ebay Wishlists are the one, check it out every weekend! (photo from her blog!)

and Hey Claire from youtube.com/heyclaire - she wears jeans and a tshirt and looks SO GOOD all the time and so effortless, plus she's gorgeous and her tattoos are amazing! (google again!)

10. Tell us something we don't know about you.
I really want to take up Spanish again, I studied it to AS level and I miss being able to speak another language so much! My landlady can speak it, and it's making me really wanna take it up again at night college or when I go back to uni next year!

Hope you enjoyed this post!
Nothing too secretive but I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit more about me!

Thanks for reading!

Hair Dyeing fun!

Hiyaaaaa.

I obviously at one point quite recently was really blonde, but for starting work I thought it was more 'appropriate' to go back to being brunette aka BORING. I hate it, I can't get used to myself with brown hair again and it just looked pretty meh. Especially after a few washes the nice brown I'd got in the hairdressers was looking a little lifeless.

So I thought it was time I took my hair back into my own hands again, and I hit the hairdye aisle at Tesco.

There are like seriously 1 million different colours, then you have Temporary, Semi-Permanent and Permanent. I always thought Permanent was best because it obviously would last longer, but my hairdresser informed me you should really only use it if you have grey hairs. Thankfully I've not stumbled upon any of them yet *touches wood* so I'm going to try and stick to semi-permanent colours for now!

My favourite hairdye brand has always been Casting Creme, they've got such glossy colours and the dyes always smell really nice. I find them really nourishing on my hair!

I chose the colour '432 Rich Espresso' which is one of the 'Glossy Chestnut' range. It looked a really good glossy brown on the box so it went in my trolley. I think it was £6.79! I've done the steps below of how I dye my hair!

BEFORE YOU DIE YOUR HAIR DO A PATCH TEST AT LEAST 48 HRS BEFORE - ALWAYS FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BOX. IF YOU HAVE ANY TYPE OF REACTION AT ALL DO NOT DYE YOUR HAIR.

1. Wet your hair but don't wash it!.
For this stage I generally just stick my head under a tap/showerhead until its wet and then roughly dry it with a towel!

2. Put moisturiser around ears/forehead.
Don't forget this step! Or you'll end up looking like you've attempted to dye your forehead too.. You always think you'll never get dye there... you will.

3. Add the colour into the applicator bottle.
Squeeze it in, stick the lid on and SHAKE it. *shakes it like a polaroid picture*

4. PUT ON THE GLOVES
They're there for a reason!!!

5. Consult the information leaflet and apply to your hair as advised.
Obviously if you've never dyed your hair it's all the one colour so you just have to apply in one go, but if you have any roots from previous dye jobs.. Do as the booklet says.. If you don't, you're still gonna have roots. Obviously.

6. Leave for the amount of time advised in the booklet
Your hair won't look any better if you leave it for longer, you're only more likely to end up with the worlds most irritated scalp. It has a time limit for a reason.

7. Wash out and style as normal - TADAH!

I really like the colour I've ended up with, as much as I possibly can like having brown hair.. It's super glossy though and it feels really healthy which I like! It's darker than I thought it was going to be, but that's always the issue with box dyes, it never really ends up the colour that's on the box!

Do you prefer to go to the hairdressers or dye at home?

My Glossybox Experience - Part two!

Hellooooo again!
I'm back again with part two of my Glossybox experience! This post will focus on the Seaside Splash box that was released in July 2013! The box for this was turquoise and had starfish and coral on and it was gorgeous! The boxes being different for special months is so cute!

The five products in this box were as follows:

Alterna Haircare's Bamboo Style Boho Wave Tousled Texture Mist (PHEW THAT'S A LONG ONE) is a product designed to give you those perfect beach waves without even needing to be anywhere near the sea! It's a salt spray that can be used on wet or dry hair! I usually avoid these kinds of products because I have short hair and I generally manage one wave and my hair runs out! But I've been using this and it has really been giving my hair a nice bit of texture that I usually don't have!
This is the full size bottle (125ml) which is £23! I never tend to spend a lot of money on haircare products to me so that seems SUPER steep but I do like this product! I just can't imagine I'll repurchase it again.. But I'll use it up and enjoy my lovely textured hair until it's done!

Next up on the agenda is the Organic Mineral Face SPF 20 Rose Essence Tint! This is a tinted moisturiser that has a primer in it in order to reduce pores! Its Hypoallergenic, paraben free and provides UVA and UVB protection! It's quite a liquidy consistency and doesn't have that much coverage. It has a nice smell of rose but it leaves quite a sticky consistency on the skin! I've used it a few times under my foundation but the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation I use already provides SPF 20 so I don't feel this is really a step I need to add into my current makeup routine.. The 50ml which I received in the Glossybox is the full size and costs £29.99.. It seems so expensive but I suppose the pricetag is related to the fact it's an organic product.. But I definitely won't repurchase this! I believe my mum might end up with this being thrown into her makeup bag!

There were 2 Sleek Pout Paints in the Glossybox, these cost £4.99 each! The red is 'Pin Up' and the white is 'Pout Paint'.. I will admit I was worried when I seen the white, I was unsure how I would ever use it.. But Becca gave me a great idea to blend the two together! The paints are soooooooo pigmented and you really do only need a tiny drop of each for a full lip application! They taste quite nice and last for eevvvverrrr! Lip stains are brilliant, basically one application and you know it'll still be there by the time you're going to bed! For a fiver I think these are brilliant, and you only need the tiniest drop so they literally will last FOREVER.

Next up is the Anatomicals 'Spray Misty For Me' Facial Spritz.. Facial sprays have been everywhere at the minute with the likes of Caudalie bringing out versions! Anatomicals are a cheaper, quirky brand with 'punny' names for all their products; the packaging is super cute too! This spray contains lavender, rose, peppermint and witch hazel.. It's so so refreshing, perfect for a quick spritz in the middle of a day to keep your makeup looking dewy and fresh! This 100ml bottle is £6 which is acceptable me, and I'd definitely think about purchasing it again and trying other products in their range! Anatomicals are sold on ASOS which is good because you can get your student discount then on top of the already acceptable prices ;-)

Last but not least is this gorgeous Ciate London Paint Pot in 'Mistress', a vivid bright red! Its quite a thin nail varnish, so I put on 3 covers to ensure I had an opaque finish and that it did the colour justice! It's super bright and definitely a colour that I would wear in the summer, but it's maybe just a bit too bright now we're coming into winter.. Darker tones tend to rule my nails in the winter! The packaging of Ciate's polishes is so cute with the little bow! This is my second Ciate polish and I'm really impressed with them, but for £9 they are on the higher end of the price scale! I know I'll use this product a lot but I don't know if I would purchase a paint pot for myself, especially when Barry M's Gelly polishes are £3.99 and give such a good finish! But I can't slate this product at all!

And finaaaalllly that's that!! I've been so impressed with the two Glossyboxes I've received, and it definitely helped that I only paid 14.95 total for the 2 of them! I do apologise that this offer isn't available on Glossybox at the minute but it finished literally a few days after I ordered it!
I hope you enjoyed reading! Let me know if you've ordered any Glossyboxes and what your opinion is of them!!

Talk soon dearies!
